StrucSoft ProSteel 3D
RISA Technologies, LLC and StrucSoft Solutions have worked in conjunction to create a bi-directional link between RISA-3D and ProSteel 3D, an object-oriented steel construction application based on AutoCAD.
ProSteel 3D’s proprietary technology enables the user to exchange data back and forth iteratively between the CAD model and the analytical model created in RISA-3D without the loss of data typically incurred in such communication.
The analytical model will retain the loading, support and restraint information while the CAD model will retain the member justification, orientation, cut back, notching and coping information.
Some key features of the RISA-3D/ProSteel 3D StrucLink:
- The StrucLink exchange mechanism can be initiated either from ProSteel 3D or RISA-3D.
- Integrity of analytical data and CAD data is maintained even after multiple transfers.
- Only necessary information required by RISA-3D is written to the exchange file to keep its size small.
- Node connectivity for RISA-3D is established by using the ‘Effective Analysis Lines’ approach in Prosteel 3D.
- The functionality to join all the Effective Analysis Lines of a joint at a common point is an integral part of StrucLink.
- A structure imported into RISA-3D can be analyzed after introducing boundary conditions and defining loads
